Djeran Season

According to the six seasons of Wadandi Boodja, around April and May is Djeran (Season of Adulthood).

Margaret River Region

The Margaret River Region is a living and breathing embodiment of ancient geography and Wadandi song lines. Natural beauty, abundance of space, fine wine and fresh coastal air make a holiday here the remedy to modern life.

A visit is a chance to exhale.

Busselton

When you visit Busselton, you join a long history of holiday-makers who’ve imparted a unique character on this vibrant beach town. So many families have made memories here, and people return throughout their lives to recreate them for the next generation.

Busselton is the place to swim, fish and play in the calm waters of Geographe Bay. Families congregate at the historic Busselton Jetty precinct, eating fish and chips and enjoying the sporting and cultural events. Discover the coral ecosystem beneath the southern hemisphere’s longest timber pile jetty, soak up the sunshine at a craft brewery or practice beach cricket along this beautiful stretch of sand.

Dunsborough & Yallingup

Dunsborough and Yallingup are two separate towns, but together they form a place that epitomises effortless coastal living. There’s something unique about the way we relate to nature here: there’s no separation between it and us.

The coastal enclaves of Dunsborough and Yallingup offer stunning natural scenery; million-dollar ocean views across a world-famous surf break at Yallingup, ancient granite coastal landforms plus countless pristine beaches. Inland, the rolling hills are dotted with vineyards offering up superb fine wine and dining experiences.

Margaret River

The Margaret River that is synonymous with the town, and the abundance that surrounds it, has been a vital life source here for the Wadandi people for tens of thousands of years. Its essence flows through the earth into the vines and trees, trickles down to the caves and washes out to meet with the salt water at the crest of foamy waves.

Margaret River’s tall timbers and rich soils give us a wealth of fine wine and incredible produce, but also grow creativity. Fuel up at the Farmers Market or visit one of the galleries to meet some of the vibrant souls who call this place home. Find sanctity in the majestic Boranup Karri Forest or deep underground at Mammoth Cave and get an adrenaline buzz at Surfers Point.

Augusta

In Augusta, something fundamental about life is understood that’s lost or forgotten elsewhere.

Augusta is a charming hilltop town with a close-knit community and sweeping river views. Relax in the untouched environment; witness the annual whale migration, taste abalone fresh off the boat, hire a houseboat or walk along the vast bay of bright white sand at Hamelin Bay taking in the turquoise waters filled with marine life. The Blackwood River streams in from 400-kilometres north-east, culminating in the glassy Hardy Inlet, home to countless species of waterbird and fish that comprise its rich ecosystem. Walking trails well-trodden extend from here through town, bush and out to sea.

Learn the fascinating maritime history at the award-winning Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse precinct and discover Jewel Cave.

For over 60,000 years the Margaret River Region has supported one of the world’s longest, unbroken human occupations, resulting in an immensely deep cultural knowledge and connection to the land.

It is the traditional land of the Wadandi (Saltwater) People.

The Margaret River Region is a living and breathing embodiment of ancient geography and Wadandi song lines. Natural beauty, abundance of space, fine wine and fresh coastal air make a holiday here the remedy to modern life.

Whilst living, travelling, visiting and holidaying on Wadandi Boodja, we ask that you respect the area and walk softly on the country, taking the time to listen to Boodja (Country) as she Wongi (talks) of the season, and leave nothing but footprints.
