Rotary Park Margaret River

Star 4.5 (414 Google reviews)

Rotary Park sits beside the beautiful Margaret River at the town’s northern doorstep, providing a special welcome and entry statement . The park provides a lovely recreational area beside both the forest and the river. Over the years the park has grown from the installation of heritage steam engine ‘Old Kate’, to the development of gardens, a playground, exercise equipment, barbeques, picnic facilities, toilets and an information bay.
The park is set amongst towering native trees which offers plenty of shade even on the hottest of days. Rotary Park is the perfect place to stop and rest when travelling through without stopping in the town itself. Set along the Margaret River, this stop is beautiful, relaxing, and educational! When you cross the lovely wooden footbridge over the Margaret River to the 'Old Settlement', you will find original settlers' buildings including the Old Milking Shed, Dairy and 'Group House'.
'Old Kate' is a memorial to the pioneers of the timber industry in the Margaret River region. You can even climb onto the locomotive and imagine what it was like cruising through the forest over 100 years ago.
Rotary Park is also the trailhead for the Ten Mile Brook cycle and walking trail, a 15km return trail along the brook to the Ten Mile Brook Dam.
Keep an eye out for the white-breasted robin, golden whistler and other bush birds. This is also a great spot for wildflowers in the spring!

Beautiful, clean, peaceful and quiet park to take nice trail walks or runs. The main tracks are clearly marked out and I see that some people also create their own tracks for their own walks or hikes. There was ample parking spaces when I visited in a weekday afternoon though it does seem to get quite packed when I drove past the place on a weekend morning.

Loved this greenish park..! Nearby Cafe which provide for hiring bikes and fixing bikes, super clean and shiny benches, bbq area, next to the old settlement house, and walking track on the bush (2.5km). It was so amazing. Definitely worth it and must come to spend the day with kids.

Fantastic little walk. I took my pram and it was comfortable enough to navigate the gravel. Beautiful walk through the trees, stunning river crossing and then a gorgeous broadwalk section over the river. Comes out next to a great Cafe too!

Good park. Theres a food truck selling good Indian food also. Smells amazing when walking around the park. The aroma of curry wafting thru the air just makes me more hungry the more I walk around .
