BOOF at Settlers Tavern
Description
BOOF is a dynamic band formed by Jody Bell and Steve Purcell in Amsterdam in 1994.
Their music is characterised by a blend of swampy pop, funky wah-wah, and harmonious vocals, with quirky lyrics about various topics like bikes, love, and money. Despite signing with Sony Holland and releasing albums, financial struggles prompted their return to Melbourne, where they’ve thrived as a five-piece ensemble with a devoted fan base known as ‘Boofheads’.
With Jody Bell on guitar and vocals, Steve Purcell on bass and vocals, Gavin Gray on drums, Don Voyage on trombone, and Camilla Hodgkins on piano and melodica, BOOF’s sound is a unique fusion of talent from diverse musical backgrounds.
Their fifth album, “Slow Cooked BOOF,” released in 2023, showcases their infectious melodies and lively performances. BOOF’s music is widely praised for its catchiness and originality, earning accolades from industry peers and fans alike.
Don’t miss their epic live performance at Settlers Tavern.
