MRROS Michael Zavros Breakfast

Margaret River Region Open Studios are delighted to present Grassroots to Global Success with Michael Zavros.

Michael Zavros is known for his meticulously detailed paintings and sculptures. He is described as an artist who pushes the boundaries and in June this year, was recognised through a 25 year retrospective exhibition title “The Favourite” at Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art. He has exhibited widely within Australia and internationally and had more than 31 solo exhibitions in Australia, New Zealand, LA and Hong Kong plus a raft of group exhibitions. His work is held in the collections of most major Australian galleries.

Zavros’s career developed from humble beginnings as a hobby artist into an internationally recognised name in the art scene. He is a multiple Archibald Prize finalist and is one of Australia’s leading portrait artists. Zavros is a multi-faceted creative, working in still life, drawing, sculpture, photography and film, making him the perfect MRROS Art Ambassador.

Join them for breakfast followed by an insightful Q&A with Open Studios Art Ambassadors Michael Zavros and Andrew Thornton Hick.

Discussions will be led by Art Ambassador and leading Perth-based designer and champion of art and design Andrew Thornton Hick, who recently hosted European designer of the year Sebastian Herkner for a masterclass event series in Perth.
