Description
Presented by Arts Margaret River and Perth International Jazz Festival
Perth International Jazz Festival’s ‘On Tour’ series presents a special concert at the Margaret River District Club (aka “the Dickie”) – a community club since 1946 boasting the “Best TASTING Beers” in town.
Enjoy a superb line-up of Western Australia’s best jazz artists including saxophonist Gemma Farrell’s original and lauded jazz project, the Gemma Farrell Quintet, which features Sam Hadlow on trombone, Dan Garner on guitar, Kate Pass on bass, and Ryan Daunt on the drums. Following their debut album Organised Chaos, which was nominated for ‘Best Instrumental Jazz Album’ at the Australian Jazz Bell Awards (2019), the group recently recorded their second album due for release this May.
Jazz vocalist Lucy Iffla will captivate and delight in the Lucy Iffla Quartet with good ol’ tunes spanning folk, jazz, and funk classics. Featuring an outstanding lineup of musicians including Ben Vanderwal on drums, Matthew Gudgeon on guitar, and Alistair Peel on bass, get set for soulful grooves and tear-jerking melodies to close out an amazing evening.
