About Scott Wise & Gary Burke
Scott Wise and Gary Burke have been playing and singing together since 1980. They were notably together in the Fremantle band, Bungarra. Scott and Gary have busked at the Margaret River Farmers’ Markets since the beginning, 21 years ago. Scott is a well-known local luthier and musician. Gary combines a PhD in Economics with 50 years of playing the double bass.
They are happy to be back at Young@HEART to play a selection of songs from the 50’s, 60’s, pop and R&B covers inspired by their older siblings’ record collections.
About Young@HEART
The Young@HEART music program is held at Margaret River HEART every Monday morning from 10am to 11am. The program does not run on public holidays or when there is another major event in the foyer. The initiative was developed to safely encourage participation in the arts among older residents (over 60s) during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to high interest, the free performances have since been opened to people of all ages. Nonetheless, the senior demographic still makes up the majority of the audience.
Young@Heart is broadcast live on Radio Margaret River.
