Fair Harvest is a permaculture farm 4km out of Margaret River in Western Australia. The Fair Harvest gardens and farm were established in 1995 and have matured into an extensive Permaculture demonstration system.
The permaculture farm has been operating since 1995 and is now open to the public. Featuring extensive food gardens, a Farm Cafe (open on special days), a beautiful Yoga Barn and farm and forest walks and their campsite is designed for people wanting a quiet, eco-friendly stay.
Their camping amenities include: hot showers, composting toilets and an outdoor kitchen built from timber harvested onsite. They are dedicated to creating a more sustainable lifestyle and sharing their beautiful farm with others. There is also a shared campfire near the camp kitchen with wood provided for cooler evenings.

Why camping at Fair Harvest minimises your environmental footprint..
All waste is composted on site, all water is reused on site all fruit, veg, herbs, honey and eggs are grown on site, all drinking water is filtered rain water, camp kitchen and ablution block are built from Fair Harvest grown plantation, timber fire wood is harvested from their plantation, all power is harvested from their solar panels (sorry no generators)

The Permaculture ethics of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share are important to them and guests are encouraged to enjoy, explore and interact with their beautiful farm.

Beautiful spot! Large sites, good location, facilities simple but clean and practical. Cool camp kitchen!

Recently competed the Permaculture Design Course (PDC) - Jan 2023. What an amazing - and educational - experience. The PDC is not just for ‘greenies, hippies, landscapers and the like’ - it is a course that all should attend for the broad appreciation of earth and life, to preserve and engage. Highly Recommended - extremely informative - very thought-provoking, the managers, staff and teachers each bring broad knowledge on the principals of Permaculture - Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. Worth every cent! The food (for the course) was simply AMAZING - all prepared onsite using where possible site grown ingredients, even including Osso Bucco (meat from one of the farm animals), organic (everything of course!) eggs, veggies, and for our time there, in season apricots and plums (YUM) - that had REAL flavour and I would imagine nutrition packed. Again - SUPER recommended - if you’re fortunate to get on the next course - DO IT!!!

If you love camping and also want to be facilitated with all the amenities at the Margaret River region, this is it. Really appreciate the host Jodie for making everything available for us in short notice and replying back our queries fast as lighting. Will surely be back and was one of the best experiences we have had while camping.

Probably one of the best campsite I stayed in (and I went to many in Australia/New Zealand). Eco friendly campsite located 6km from Margaret River in a quiet and wild area, this place have hot showers/dry toilets/campkitchen/plugs to recharge your phone and other devices/playground for children (or adults ahah). We paid $53 for 3 adults (1 car, 2 tents). You can recycle cans/glass bottles/food scraps... Just make sure you bring your own trash bag for your trash that can't be recycled (they only take the stuff that can be recycled, which is fair enough). They also have some goats with their own house, chilling around... I wish we had enough time to check the permaculture area, an other time maybe :) Anyway, everything is built in a logical and ecological way, respectful of the earth. I hope we will see more places like this in the future, this is a great concept and that's how I picture the accommodation of tomorrow. Thank you!
