Gracetown Beach

Star 4.6 (52 Google reviews)

The tightknit community of Gracetown shares a lot of its character through the beach that bears its name. Its size makes it intimate. Its natural state is raw. The wind buffets, but then so do the waves.
This is a town and a section of coast exposed and shaped by the push of weather that funnels between North Point and South Point – two landmark surf breaks between which sits the quieter Cowaramup Bay. Gracetown Beach is a small curve of sand crossed longitudinally by the Cape to Cape track, and latitudinally by Cowaramup Brook, a hotspot of local birdlife.

Rocks are ideal for clambering. Low shrub on the hill behind paints a picture of raw beauty and exposure. Just a short walk up the hill to town, the Gracetown General Store is a small provider that’s adopted the Margaret River region ethos of produce, people and place with delicious results. This is a beach-side pit-stop that retains its coastal character while offering a high-quality food experience. Don’t miss the pies – they sell out early.

Dog Friendly Area
The dog friendly stretch is slightly further around the bay from the main Gracetown Beach. Please adhere to signage and rules; pick up after your dog; and be mindful of people and wildlife on the beach.

Just drove through to see what it is like whilst staying in Dunsborough. Lovely little town. Gorgeous looking beach.

We stopped off here on the way down to Augusta, easy parking, toilet facilities and a short walk on to the beach for swimming or surfing or to simply people watch which is precisely what we did as we ate our lunch in the car enjoying the view. It says a lot about the area when the store/cafe nearby (which doesn't look much from the outside) sells high quality champagne amongst a nice selection of other wines and sandwiches, it was like a tardis! Next time we will be buying our food from there, it looked much better than what we actually had with us.

We love bringing the family down here and swimming, even in winter it's a great place to go for a swim just a little bit chilly! The car park is spacious with a lot of easy access to the beach and there are even public toilets

Nice swimming spot. Bit of shade. Pretty good toilets
