Margaret River Distilling Co. is open Sunday to Thursday 10am to 6pm and Friday & Satuday 10am to 7pm.
Bookings are recommended for weekends and groups of over 6 x people, otherwise, walk-ins are available.
Margaret River Distilling Company is the home of Giniversity Gin, and sister distillery to Great Southern Distilling Company in Albany which produces the award-winning Limeburners, Tiger Snake and Dugite Whiskies.
Tucked away amongst the native Peppermint trees, Margaret River Distilling Company is based in the heart of Margaret River just a short stroll from the centre of town. Enjoy a delicious meal and a tasting flight of premium spirits, or one of their scrumptious cocktails.
Locally roasted coffee and a selection of local beers and wines are also available.
Master Distiller and Founder Cameron Syme has been distilling premium craft spirits since 2005, for the most part in Albany until Margaret River Distilling Company officially opened for business in November 2015.
All products produced are available to taste in the venue, offering casual tavern-style dining all day in a lush forest backdrop and just a short walk from the town centre. With an extensive range of tastings available there is sure to be something for everyone, including Single Malt Whisky, American style Whiskey, Gin, Vodka, and other special limited edition spirits. To satisfy every need there is also a range of locally-sourced beer, wine, cider, coffee, and an all-day menu to keep the whole family happy. Plus they are dog-friendly!
If you have ever wanted to be a Distiller for a day, then the Giniversity experiences are the perfect way to give it a try. The Blending class takes you through the history of gin, learn spirit-making practices, sample the Giniversity range, and then design and blend your own bespoke recipe. Each participant then takes home their own custom 500ml bottle of gin.

Really friendly staff and amazing service. All of the gins are amazing. Also tried my first whiskies from here and they are fantastic. The balcony is a really good spot to relax. If you find gins you want to take home you can arrange for them to be posted if they won't fit into your luggage.

It was our first time having a gin tasting but the staff explained everything so well. Wide selection of gins, whiskey and even some vodka. The food was also lovely and complimented the gins well. Quiet location right next to a nature trail. Will be visiting again next time!

We shared a gin blending class, with Damon, a facilitator who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He seems to have a great palate and gave some excellent suggestions for how and what to add to our blends. My husband and my blends were completely different and the bonus of doing the class, besides it being great fun, is you get to take your personal gin home. You even get to name it. Afterwards we had lunch and a few more gins and whiskeys. Everything was delicious and the service was top notch. We received 10% off as we were staying at River Glen Chalets and would recommend the ribs, the goat cheese salad, chips, ans affogato with honey infused whisky liquor! And, to top it all off, the coffee was also good quality.

What an absolutely fantastic spot for lunch. The food was amazing & the service was brilliant.
We ordered the Tasmanian Ocean Trout & the Slow Cooked Pork Ribs in Tiger Snake Whiskey, which were both delicious.
We also ordered from the dessert “Naughty List” & it was just as good as it sounded.
A Dark Chocolate & Orange Tart with Strawberries & Ice-cream - OMG - it was sooooo damn good!!!!
Regardless of whether you try their Gin or Whiskey which they specialise in (we didn’t) definitely stop by for a delicious feed 💕
