Miki's Open Kitchen in Margaret River features an open kitchen where guests can watch Miki and his team prepare authentic Japanese dishes.
The dishes served won’t be found in Japan. Instead, on the plate, you will meet with ingredients that Miki relies on, from the farmer’s hands that work the fertile soil borne by the salt cloaked breeze and natural minerals.
Combined with a rich array of local produce and technique of using shallow copper pots, the dynamic vibe at Miki's is reflected in the tailor-made degustation. An eclectically curated range of Japanese sake and local wines completes the culinary experience.

Visited from Melbourne with my partner and was recommended by multiple Margaret River locals to dine at Miki’s Open Kitchen.
We had the Miki’s Complete Degustation with included 23 unique elements. For an additional cost we added the Otsukuri which is a plate of sashimi served alongside the cold entree. To round out our experience we added the Miki’s pairing which included 5 servings - a selection of cocktails, sake, wine and whisky.
The food was exceptionally fresh, unique and delicious. The pairings complemented our meal beautifully.
A must go if you’re visiting Margaret River.

A must if you are visiting town.
Militantly efficient and attentive servers. Unexpectedly surprise you all throughout the meal.
Watching the food get made, be served and then sampling each dish, like an art, a pure passion for the soul and senses.
The two hour setting is plentiful, joyful and so much delight.
The flavours, textures and presentation are magnificent. The kitchen is calm, each person works with purpose, and structure.
The boss Miki will surprise you!

A much anticipated meal at this restaurant turned out to be a slightly above average affair. Nothing really outstanding, nothing really bad, except for the mapo beancurd which the whole table agreed was pretty awful, nothing like what it’s supposed to taste like. Just felt that too much was made of the ‘23 ingredients’ in the meal, perhaps highgrade to fewer, focus on less-is-best instead of more-is-more.
The open kitchen concept is nice, but a lot of restaurant have gone that way, so it’s nothing special. Service was attentive.

The food was excellent and with lots of different interesting flavor combinations to try. All the dishes were well presented and the drinks pairing offered some of the best wines I have tried in the region.
We really enjoyed having the open kitchen.
