Born from a love of Bordeaux Cabernet blends, and the dream to create a stellar red wine of their own, David and Heather Watson established Woodlands in 1973 within the Wilyabrup Valley.
Woodlands vineyard now covers 10 hectares, and is certified organic. Their wines are also vegan-friendly.
Woodlands is one of Margaret River's first six vineyards planted.
Woodlands produces wine from their two vineyards, both in the Wilyabrup Valley of Margaret River. The original Woodlands vineyard is located on Caves Road, while the Woodlands Brook Vineyard is located two kilometres to the northeast. Their vineyards are dry-farmed, and wines are grown and made by organic practices from the same vineyard each year.
The range of wines includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Merlot blends, and Chardonnay. Woodlands Wines are renowned for balance, drinkability and age-ability. Their Cabernet Sauvignon especially has only been produced from the same vines since Woodlands began.
Woodlands' newly renovated cellar door offers generous and unique wine tasting experiences. You can visit and taste their current ranges and as well as museum releases. There are also options to enjoy cheese and grazing boards full of local and international products during the tasting.
