Hardy Inlet and the Blackwood River are excellent for boating and canoeing to explore the region's flora and fauna. Look for migratory waders (November to March), Australasian darters and Caspian terns, you may even be lucky to see the Black Bittern along the Blackwood River. A hot tip is to keep an eye out for the many wildflowers that can be viewed in spring too!
Hardy Inlet
The Hardy Inlet is a beautiful spot for families to spend the day fishing, swimming, boating or kayaking. The foreshore area is grassed and there are lots of shady trees to set up for the day under - or there are picnic tables to sit at and enjoy your lunch. The water is flat and shallow - great for kids to safely splash and swim in - and the calm waters also make it a safe place to fish.
