Developed and operated by the Rotary Club of Busselton Geographe Bay, the Busselton Heritage Trail offers an experience unique to the South West. Proceeds from your $10 subscription fee support Rotary community projects.
Begin your Heritage Trail tour by visiting the iconic Busselton Jetty, a significant early WA timber structure and a valuable relic of Busselton's past. You can take a trip on the jetty train to a modern underwater observatory. The next site is Railway House, now the Busselton Visitor Centre, where you can find all the information you need to make the most of your visit to the city. Here you will also find the Ballaarat engine, the first railway steam engine manufactured in the southern hemisphere and the first locomotive to operate in WA.
Pay a visit to the Pioneer Cemetery before following the Heritage Trail down Queen St, where most of the sites are located. Turn left after St Mary's Church of England and complete your tour at the Butter Factory Museum. The Butter Factory stands on the northern bank of the Vasse River as a good example of post-WWI industrial architecture.
Ready to start your tour? Click the 'Visit Website' button to go directly to the Trail's website then simply follow the instructions to access the tour. You will be asked to create a password and pay a $10 subscription fee which will let you access the tour content at any time, as often as you like, over the next fortnight.
Once you’ve signed up and you’re ready to start the tour, simply re-visit the website on your mobile device, use your password to log in and access the tour content. You can complete the tour in a couple of hours or spread it over several days during your 14-day subscription period.

It was great to wander through the old gaol and get the feel of what it was like. It's awesome that it has been restored and put use. The Courthouse itself is now a painting gallery.

Very nice small gallery, I live locally and visit every month or two too see exhibition.
Particularly like August / September when they have the Busselton art prize on. The caliber is impressive and they always get a good mix of sculpture, painting and other media

I enjoyed walking through the old cells and learning about the history of early Busselton. The rest of the complex is very much an art gallery/store of the contemporary type which wasn't my cup of tea at all. Free entry.
