Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is a 10-minute drive south of Augusta, at the very end of the Leeuwin Road.

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is a must-see attraction. This historic lighthouse is the tallest on mainland Australia. It is situated at the most south-westerly point of Australia, at the tip of a spectacular peninsula where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet.
Take a trip through maritime history and learn how this famous landmark was constructed from local limestone in 1895 and is still a vital working lighthouse for vessels navigating the treacherous cape. 

From May to September the lighthouse transforms into one of the best land-based vantage points for spotting migrating whales.

The Interpretive Centre, housed within one of the original lighthouse keepers' cottages, is an outstanding interactive experience that celebrates the history and lives of the numerous lighthouse keepers who were custodians of this rugged coastline. 

Visitors can enjoy coffee or delicious light refreshments at the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse Café.

Children under 4 years old are not permitted to climb the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. Children 4 yrs – 16 yrs. All children must be accompanied by an adult. All tours must have a minimum of two adults to run. Visitors participate in the tour activity at their own risk. Refunds are not offered for no-shows or cancellations.

Your guide will lead you up to the top of the tower, while discussing aspects of the lighthouse's vital role in maritime safety, and interesting tales of its construction. Upon stepping out onto the tower balcony a vast seascape unfolds, of crashing waves, rocky outcrops and rugged coastline. You can also visit the new Interpretive Centre, housed in one of the original lighthouse keepers' cottages, which celebrates the history and lives of the numerous lighthouse keepers who were custodians of this isolated cape.

A piece of history is worth the trip to see. The story of all the light keepers and the cottages built there is very interesting. Beautiful coastal views. It is best to get there early for a carport, though.

Great views from lighthouse compound. Yes, you have to pay to go up to the lighthouse and visit the lighthouse keepers building. You need to pay more for the guided tour inside the lighthouse itself. We opted for just the lighthouse compound and were happy with the views.

An interesting historical site located where the Southern and Indian oceans meet. It costs to enter the area, but you can visit the small museum and take a tour of the lighthouse. A beautiful spot, but be prepared for high winds most days.

The historic Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse sits at the tip of a spectacular peninsula, where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet.Just if you have a time visit this history place and you will read all the story behind that scenes.$7 for entry and I think worth it,clean,great view,strong wind too.I love WA 🥰
