Margaret River Surfing Academy has developed the ‘Mindful waves’, an education program to be delivered with yoga and surfing. The program offers the opportunity to combine theoretical learning with a practical, fun outdoor activity while learning about improving your mental health. Learn to identify and challenge your personal growth in an evidence-based program to improve your surfing and mental well-being.
During the two-day program, students receive one yoga session each day and one guided surf lesson a day. Our Mindful Waves program runs in two parts over two days. Our training identifies mental health preparedness, what happens in the body in stressful situations, regulating emotions through control of breath and relaxation, dietary improvement and emotional wellbeing.

Absolutely thrilled with our first-ever surfing lesson at Margaret River Surfing Academy! The instructors were not only highly skilled and safety focused, but they were also incredibly patient, making the experience enjoyable for both the adults and the kids in our group. Their passion for surfing and dedication to teaching shone through, creating a positive and memorable atmosphere. From mastering the basics to catching our first waves, the guidance was top-notch. Had a blast with our instructor who was very positive and encouraging, it wasn’t a stiff or impersonal lesson and just adjusted according to how we were going which is perfect for this kind of experience. Loved it and will recommend all the time

Everything you'd want from a surf school. Safe, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and fun. They provided a wetsuit, board and wax. All you need is a towel and some zinc. My 12 year old loved it. Great guys with heaps of love for the sport that they want to share with you. Highly recommended.
