The Busselton Community Garden aims to provide a space for recreation and social interaction, a place to encourage and educate the community about sustainable organic gardening, sharing and increasing knowledge in the practices of permaculture.
Take a walk through the gardens and orchard note the rainwater tanks, established grey water systems, solar panels, chicken sanctuary, worm farms and composting facilities, the makings of an amazing sustainable environment.
Act locally and think globally!
The gardens are a special place to host community events, promote local art and foster co-operation between other community groups and organisations - whilst promoting continual community engagement in establishing a culture of generosity, trust and self-help with the encouragement of community pride.
Nestled amongst the community gardens is peppermint cottage, an eco-house, that runs off rainwater tanks and solar panels and is the home to Pepi Café, serving wholesome nourishing vegetarian food, harvested from their garden plots.
