As the Wadandi season of Djeran continues to bring its beautiful autumnal glow, spectacular waves and just-right weather conditions, naturally you can’t wait to embark on an outdoors adventure and explore the exciting events scene. Whether you prefer a dive in the ocean at the Busselton Festival of Triathlon or a dive into the world of literature at the iconic Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival, the Margaret River Region is the place to be this month.

Starting at Hamelin Bay and ending at Howard Park Wines, the Margaret River Ultramarathon will see contestants challenge themselves like never before. Designed for all levels from elites through to newcomers, runners can tackle the course as a solo competitor or in a team.

Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival | 17–19 May

Margaret River Region

The iconic Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival celebrates storytelling across multiple art forms and includes a dazzling array of novelists, journalists, creative thinkers, artists, performers and established and emerging storytellers from WA, interstate and overseas. Book lovers will be swept off their feet with highlights such as keynote address by acclaimed philosopher Professor A.C. Grayling, a special Dinner with Holly Ringland waiting for them. There’ll be plenty of free events such as the Storytelling Snug for little bookworms, writing workshops and the Visual Stories Exhibition as well. If you’re staying in Busselton, look out for the Busselton Special Edition.
