What’s happening in March?

March marks the final weeks of Bunuru, the Season of Adolescence, which is also known as the second summer to the traditional owners of Wadandi Boodja (Saltwater People’s Country). This is the season of sun-kissed days, perfect for exploring the region’s coastal tracks, jumping on a sailboat and enjoying the epic events on offer.

We’re kicking off the month and March long weekend with the Beerfarm Rodeo! Bring the fam, as with a full point rodeo, local food trucks, market stalls, kids activities and live music, there’ll be something for everyone. This popular event is currently sold out, jump on the waitlist.

Another staple long weekend event! Featuring a wide range of free and low-cost fun events, enjoy everything from outdoor movies, town buskers, local markets and face painting to SUP board races, live music, food trucks, guided walks and much more at the Augusta Weekend Fiesta.

Conrad and Rob from Cape Grace Wines invite you to join them for their Winemaker’s Pick and be a winemaker for a day. Help them harvest and process their award-winning red grapes, get intimate insights into vintage and have all your wine questions answered. Your hard work will be rewarded with a barrel tasting and scrumptious “Vineyard Worker’s Lunch”.

A local favourite, the Dunsborough Arts Festival will return this March long weekend. Featuring highlights such as free concerts, Sculpture by the Bay, a Small Sculptures Exhibition, art markets, food stalls and fireworks, the Dunsborough Foreshore becomes a magnet for both locals and visitors. Park in town and enjoy the short walk or if you have bikes, ride them in.

As if the stunning views of the Augusta Hotel weren’t reason enough to spend your whole Sunday afternoon there, add spectacular live music — courtesy of Arts Margaret River — in the mix. This free Sunday Sundowner in Augusta is part of a series that aims to enable all families of all backgrounds the opportunity to attend a concert as a family group.

Designed to mesmerise and enthral, the Ocean Film Festival World Tour showcases a 3-hour celebration of our oceans comprised of sublime footage taken above and below the water’s surface. Inspiring and thought-provoking, the breathtaking program is filled with moving footage, touching interviews and insightful narrations.

Get ready for a legendary night at Shelter Brewing Co. as Pacific Avenue is heading to the South West. Described as a sound that blends classic rock & roll with a contemporary indie flavour, the band has had a meteoric rise with their EP ‘Strawberry Skies’ and multiple song rotations through Triple J.

March signals the return of the much beloved Busselton Fringe festival, promising a delightful array of entertainment to tickle every taste bud. From mesmerising dance performances and side-splitting comedy to jaw-dropping circus acts and beyond, the festival boasts a line-up featuring cherished local talents and exciting new faces.

One of Australia’s greatest success stories, the American-born Diesel, has spent three decades weaving an effortlessly magic musical touch into his rock and blues-fuelled sounds, both as part of the band Johnny Diesel & The Injectors and, more recently, as a solo artist.
