Start the day with coffee and brekkie from the Dunsborough Bakery, which has been a local favourite since 1941.
From here you can head south to Middle Earth in Cowaramup, one of the most challenging MTB tracks in the region.
It’s a rolling 24km of single bike trail, and most of it is in a technical cross-country style. Think log rolls, double jumps, rock gardens, and plenty of flat sections where you need to rely on your own pedal power.
Conveniently close to Middle Earth is Beerfarm, a bucolic spot for lunch and a couple of cold ones where you can roll up in your riding gear.
Once you are refuelled and bellies are full it’s time to head to your accommodation in Margaret River. Check out the RAC’s Margaret River Nature Park for modest and comfortable digs located an arms throw from the Margaret River trails, or Bushland Retreat by Private Properties for something a little more fancy and located less than a 4km ride to the Carters Road carpark.
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dinner in town, but some of our favourites are Settlers for a good pub feed, Swings for the best woodfired pizza, or check Instagram to find where the Normal Van food truck (ie. insanely delicious American-style burgers) is set up for the evening (on Saturday nights they can be found at Rotary Park).
