MTB Mountain Bike Riding Margaret River

The Margaret River Region, rich biodiversity and abundance of space, has garnered attention worldwide as an outdoor recreation mecca particularly for mountain biking and road cycling enthusiasts. For those who are just looking to embrace nature and the great outdoors, there are plenty of leisure cycling trails and tours to try out including biking through the vines.

Mountain Biking

Set in the forest amidst gigantic trees and spectacular scenery, the mountain bike trails are a mix of gravel roads and single track, suitable for beginner to advanced riders.

For those that want to cruise, the relatively flat firm surface of the easy and scenic Wadandi Track (Rails to Trails) and Ten Mile Brook tracks are great for all levels of fitness and talent.

But if you’re a die-hard mountain biker find your nirvana with the epic mountain bike trails that have relentless jumps, berms, logs, roll overs, scrambles and mud (in season!). There are great mountain bike trails in Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River.

And if you still need more of a challenge, plan your visit around the list of MTB events and races.

Road Cycling

It wasn’t that long ago that road cycling in the Margaret River Region was only done by a few locals who had discovered how blissfully quiet, picturesque and fun the rolling country back roads can be.

Fast forward to today and on any given morning, on any given road, you may come across professional road racing teams on training camps to fully loaded touring bikes part way through an epic journey. This little corner of Western Australia is no longer slipping under the radar of road cyclists looking for somewhere new to explore, train or race.

The fantastic roads and scenery aren’t the only thing bringing road cyclists to the region. As most cyclists would know, coffee and cycling go together like popcorn at the movies. In the Margaret River Region, including Busselton, Dunsborough and Cowaramup you are absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to getting your pre or post ride caffeine fix. The standard for coffee in the region, like all the food and produce, is sky high.

So next time you’re thinking of coming to the region for the amazing wine, food, beaches, forests or events, think about packing the bike too, you won’t be disappointed.
