On our first visit to the south west, with Dunsborough as our base, my friend and I booked a half day tour with Forage Safaris and it was the best decision we made! The delightful Jan took us to Vasse Virgin where we found ourselves arm deep (literally) in scrubs and oils and creams; then onto Gabriel’s for a delicious chocolate tasting and one of their must-have freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Next stop was Margaret River Venison for some chorizo and some hilarious insights, before a premium cheese and wine tasting at Passel Estate’s stunning cellar door. Our final destination was the Cape Naturaliste Vineyard which had the most perfect verandah and outlook for a sunny spring day. Jan was a super sweet, personable and knowledgeable host and so thoughtful, welcoming us with a Forage Safaris hessian bag for any goodies we purchased, as well as a sample of her homemade rusk. She offered us savoury snacks to nibble on at the second wine tasting, and gave us a refreshing cup of chilled fruit salad for the journey home. The stars aligned with Jan’s movements and avails and we were able to engage her services for a couple of hours the next day so she could show us around Cape Naturaliste’s famous sites and beaches, including Sugarloaf Rock and the lighthouse, before dropping us off at Vasse Felix for lunch. I couldn’t recommend Jan and Forage Safaris more highly.

My partner and I went on the Sunset Wine experience and it was fantastic. Jan was engaging and took us to some great vineyards, where we had a very personal wine tasting experience followed by an evening picnic in the sensory garden that was beyond our expectations. It was the highlight of our Western Australia trip.

Wonderful and informative wine tasting at some of the less commercial wineries in Yallingup and surrounds, and hearing from winery owners how their vineyard was established and their methods of viticulture. The highlight is a delicious and generous sunset platter with accompanying wine overlooking the vineyard. Jan is a superb guide: the tour is great value and highly recommended.

Totally recommend a tour with Forage Safaris. Jan coordinated everything we discussed, so all we needed to do was to be ready in time to be picked up. We based our tour around 3 wineries & enjoyed adequate time at each location to not only taste their range but learn about the location, winery origins & techniques. We loved the attention to detail & additional palette cleansers & tote gift. Highly recommend & look forward to another tour with Jan when we return. Thank you.
