Mandalay Holiday Resort

Mandalay Holiday Resort is the perfect spot for families who love adventure. The resort is made up of beach cottages and villas, which overlook the stunning Geographe Bay. There’s a pool with a giant rainbow water slide, a lap pool and an indoor pool (all heated). Plus, Geographe Bay is just across the road. This protected bay is known for being exceptionally calm, which makes it perfect for young families who want to splash in the shallows.

Kids will also love the Mandalay Holiday Resort’s games room and awesome playground. There’s even a giant jumping pillow for max fun. Families who want to camp can take advantage of the resort’s powered and ensuite sites, which are ideal for tents, caravans and motorhomes. And, if you want to take the family to town, there are easy and safe cycle-ways that run all the way to Busselton from your accommodation. (Adult bike rental is available too, so just remember to bring bikes for the little ones.)

Tanah Marah

If you’re looking to escape the bustle of the city, then Tanah Marah is the place for your family. Each luxurious rammed earth chalet is perfectly appointed with everything a family could need, including spacious rooms, open plan living areas and a terrace, which looks out onto a giant lake. Guests can cruise around the lake by kayak or row boat, or enjoy a picnic on the lush grass around it.

Families will also love to explore the beautiful natural bushland that surrounds the chalets. Take a stroll through the wilderness, cross a bridge over the Bramley Brook and take in the native flora and wildlife. There’s even a nine hole golf course, which weaves its way through the forest, and two tennis courts for some friendly family competition.

Margaret River Hideaway and Farmstay

Head about eight minutes north-east of Margaret River and you’ll discover Margaret River Hideaway and Farmstay. This absolute gem is the ideal getaway for the whole family. It even provides fenced areas for well-behaved doggos! The farm stay has seven cottages and two studios, which are completely self-contained.

Kids love feeding the animals on the farm, which happens for one hour every morning on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday (when the weather behaves). There are plenty of cool animals on the farm, like long-haired Scottish Highland cattle, chickens, ducks, emus, peacocks, guinea fowls, alpacas and sheep. Kids will be taught how to interact with the animals, so they know how to feed them safely, while still having a great time.

Hamelin Bay Holiday Park

Hamelin Bay Holiday Park is a top pick for families who love the seaside. Guests can enjoy a beach front cottage, with views of the Indian Ocean, or set up at one of the park’s powered or unpowered camp sites. Campers can choose a spot just metres from the bay, or under the shade of a Peppermint Tree.

Hamelin Bay is renowned for its incredible swimming, snorkelling and fishing. Not to mention the wild sting rays that call the bay home, although remember to always keep your distance. There are also caves to explore nearby and a sculpture park, which features giant sculptures of much-loved characters, created from recycled wood, stone and other cool materials.

Flinders Bay Holiday Park

Flinders Bay Caravan Park is set right on the beach, about five minutes from Augusta’s township. The park is super shady, and features private, sheltered sites for families to set up camp and enjoy. There are barbeques, laundry facilities and three amenity sites. Dogs are welcome too, but they need to be kept on a leash at all times.

Granny’s Pool is only 700 metres away from the park. This sheltered hamlet is popular with young families, who want to enjoy calm shallow waters and search for crabs in the rocks around the pool. Flinders Bay Jetty is also nearby, and makes for a great fishing spot. The bay is perfect for families who want to play in the tranquil waters, or enjoy a paddle around the calm lagoon.

Margaret River Holiday Cottages

Margaret River Holiday Cottages is the kind of place that will have you seriously considering making a tree change, which is exactly how owners Andrew and Jules ended up in the region. They have created the kind of place they love visiting with their own family, and all of the details have been considered to ensure everyone has a great time. There’s a basketball hoop, playground and play court for kids to burn off steam, plus an indoor swimming pool that’s heated to a comfortable temperature year round.

But it is the farm animals that are the stars of the show, and guests can join daily morning feeding sessions of the friendly animals.
